Am I buying a pattern or a finished charm?
A pattern. It is a PDF of written instructions that you download and crochet from. Nothing physical is posted to you.
I have never crocheted before. Can I make these?
If you can chain, single crochet, increase and decrease, you can make almost everything here. Every file includes an abbreviations table and notes on the few techniques used, including the magic ring. If you want the gentlest possible start, the Lemon is the whole method in an evening, and the Sun has nothing sewn to anything at all.
What do the numbers in brackets mean?
The stitch count you should have when that round is finished. If your count does not match, the mistake is in that round rather than the next one — fix it before moving on.
US or UK terms?
US terms throughout, with the abbreviations spelled out in every file.
How big are the charms?
Between 3 cm and 8 cm. Every product page lists the finished size of what it contains, and so does the file.
What yarn and hook?
DK / light worsted (#3) cotton on a 2.5 mm hook. Cotton holds the shape better than acrylic at this size. You only need small amounts of each colour, so these are good for using up what is left on a ball.
Can I sell the charms I make?
Yes. Sell them at fairs or online as long as you credit HookieNest as the pattern designer. What you may not do is resell, share or republish the pattern file itself, or rewrite it for distribution. The file is the thing being sold here; the charms you make from it are yours.
When do I get the file?
Immediately. The download link is on the confirmation screen and in your email.
Can I get a refund?
Digital files cannot be returned once downloaded, but if a file will not open, is missing pages, or is not what the listing described, email us within 7 days and we will refund you in full.
I think there is a mistake in a pattern.
Please tell us — the charm name and the round number is enough. We will check it and fix the file, and everyone who bought it gets the corrected version.
Is it cheaper to buy a set?
Yes, if you want more than about three from the same theme. Each set costs less than buying its patterns individually, and the 38-in-1 bundle costs less than half of buying all five sets. Every one of those comparison prices is a real price on this store.
