Ten little dinosaurs, one crochet PDF

Make a colourful family of chubby baby dinosaurs with big round heads, tiny arms, stubby legs and tapered tails. Each has a lighter belly patch and a simple embroidered face. Choose Baby T-rex, Triceratops, Stegosaurus, Brachiosaurus, Pterodactyl, Ankylosaurus, Parasaurolophus, Spinosaurus, a hatching baby T-rex or a sleepy pastel friend.
Pattern details
  • 10 designs in one 38-page English PDF.
  • One shared eight-piece base, with every row and round counted and colour-labelled.
  • Three horns and a frill; seven back plates and one tail spike; six extra neck rounds; two wings and a crest; twelve armour bobbles and a tail club; a curved crest; and a back sail.
  • A counted half eggshell with eight zigzag peaks, plus a nightcap, crochet pompom and tiny striped blanket.
  • Vector placement diagrams, per-design sizes, linked contents, PDF bookmarks, UK term conversion, finishing and troubleshooting.

Materials: matte sport or light DK cotton, a 2.5-3.0 mm hook to meet gauge, polyester fibrefill, black and blush embroidery thread, tapestry needle, scissors, stitch markers, pins and ruler. Suggested yarn to have available: 55-65 m of the main colour and 15-40 m of the remaining colours for one chosen design, including sewing and spare yarn.

Skill: intermediate. Techniques include continuous rounds, turned rows, increases, invisible decreases, a joined-chain neck tube, three-dc bobbles, mixed-height shell-edge stitches and sewing.

Size: each dinosaur has a stated sitting-height band of 10-13 cm at 28 sc and 25 rows or rounds per 10 cm. Individual estimates and front widths are printed for all ten designs; the spread-wing Pterodactyl is about 10.5 cm wide. Yarn, gauge, filling and assembly affect the finished size.

Embroidered dot eyes are standard; the sleepy dinosaur uses closed-arc eyes. If optional safety eyes are used, keep the toy away from children under 3. Sew all details securely and inspect seams regularly. Spot clean gently and air dry.
