Materials: DK cotton in the colours on each food page, a 3.5 mm hook, tapestry needle, scissors, removable stitch markers, measuring tape, a paper circle and a flat blocking surface. Confident beginner: joined hdc rounds, sc rows, end shaping, simple colour changes, bobbles, sewing and short embroidery stitches.

Size: at the stated gauge, widths are about 11.2-14.0 cm and heights about 10.0-13.8 cm, including outward details. The longest side ranges from 11.2 to 14.0 cm. Before sewing, the plain body area accommodates a circle about 9.8-12.2 cm across. Keep sewn pieces and raised details outside a 9 cm cup area, sized for a mug base of about 8 cm. Your yarn and tension set the finished size; check your own mug fits.
