Three flat ornaments off a Swedish tree rather than an English one. The heart is not sewn shut anywhere — three red loops and three cream loops threaded through one another into a nine-square check, and it is the only pattern in this shop whose finished shape comes out of the weaving instead of out of the stitches. The horse and the goat then share one shaped panel and differ in a single decision: take the decreases at the belly and the back stays straight and the neck lifts into a horse, take them at the back and the spine drops away behind the shoulder into a goat. Worsted on a 5 mm hook, so the colour reads from across a room rather than at arm length.
