Three puppy-shaped pouches that swallow your keys. A crocheted cord runs from a split ring inside the pouch, up through the opening at the top, and out to a loop above it, with a small stopper ball on the cord. Pull the loop and the keys draw up inside; pull the keys and they come back out to use. The same pouch construction becomes a Floppy Beagle, a Corgi or a Poodle through three different ear and face treatments. Worked in DK cotton at a tight tension so the pouch keeps its shape where the keys rub.

Tricky assembly, but worth the patience

I almost gave this 1 star right after making the ears and muzzle. The snout placement felt off and my pull cord kept getting jammed inside the pouch, which made me really annoyed. After re-reading the assembly notes and adjusting the cord tension so the keys slide smoothly, it ended up super cute and functional. Definitely needs patience for the finishing details.

Disappointed at first, but turned out adorable

When I first downloaded the pattern, I was quite disappointed because the pull-out cord mechanism and head assembly instructions seemed vague and confusing. I put it aside for a day feeling frustrated. But once I sat down, pinned all the pieces before sewing, and carefully traced the cord loop pathway through the inner pouch, it worked like magic! My daughter loves her puppy key pouch now.
