Four flowers for a little crossbody pouch
Crochet a small crossbody phone pouch with a flower on its flap. This 33-page PDF includes one shared bag base and four complete arrangements: Lotus, Peony, Rose and Tulip.
Pattern details
Choose your flower
- Lotus: nine wired white-and-pink petals, a green seed-pod centre, yellow stamen ring, one bud and round leaves on a dusty-pink pouch with a cream front.
- Peony: three coral ruffled layers, one matching bud and round green leaves on a dusty-rose pouch.
- Rose: one large rolled red bloom, one closed bud and serrated green leaves on a sage pouch.
- Tulip: three cup flowers in red, yellow and coral, one closed bud and narrow green leaves on a butter-yellow pouch.
Size and construction
The finished pouch is about 13 x 18 cm, in portrait shape, for a phone plus cash, cards or a small wallet. The crocheted crossbody strap is about 95-100 cm between its sewn attachment seams. The shared base has a 17-stitch back and front, a 63-stitch gusset, a tapered flap and a sew-on magnetic snap. Optional traced fabric lining instructions are included.
Materials
Use 2 mm woven cord yarn with TWO strands together and a 3.5 mm hook for the body and strap. Use ONE strand and a 2.0 mm hook for all flowers, buds, leaves and stems. You will also need thin craft wire, wire cutters, pliers, narrow tape, one sew-on magnetic snap set, a yarn needle, a sewing needle and strong thread, scissors and stitch markers. Fill small buds with matching yarn offcuts. Light woven fabric and sewing thread are optional for the lining.
US crochet terms, written rows and rounds, stitch counts, vector panel and joining diagrams, four colour plans, front layouts, linked contents and page bookmarks.
