Four ladies for a little crossbody pouch

Crochet a small crossbody phone pouch with a lady in a three-tier ruffled dress. This 33-page PDF includes one shared bag base, a resized back-view lady with long hair and a wide hat, and four distinct accessories and flower arrangements.
Pattern details

Choose your lady

  • Parasol Lady: teal pouch, cream scallops, soft blue dress and a cream parasol, with pink and white flowers.
  • Flower Basket Lady: blush pink pouch, rose scallops and dress, and a honey-tan flower basket, with white and yellow flowers.
  • Fan Lady: lavender pouch, cream scallops and a lilac dress, holding an open cream-and-lilac fan, with pink and white flowers.
  • Bouquet Lady: sage pouch, cream scallops and a mint dress, holding a white-and-peach bouquet, with three white daisies on her hat band.

Size and construction

The finished pouch is about 13 x 18 cm, with a crocheted crossbody strap about 95-100 cm between its sewn seams. The lady is about 8.4 cm tall at the stated single-strand gauge, before her accessory. The shared base has a 17-stitch front and back, a 63-stitch gusset, a tapered flap and a sew-on magnetic snap. Choose a plain flap or add the counted nine-scallop contrast edge. Every pouch has a small five-petal flap flower and two leaves. Optional traced fabric lining instructions are included.

Materials

Use 2 mm woven cord yarn with TWO strands and a 3.5 mm hook for the bag and strap. Use ONE strand and a 2.0 mm hook for the lady, accessories, scallops, flowers and leaves. You will also need one four-hole sew-on magnetic snap set, a yarn needle, a sewing needle and strong matching thread, scissors, stitch markers and a ruler. Light woven fabric, tracing paper and sewing thread are optional for the lining. All appliqués are sewn.

US crochet terms with UK conversion, written rows and rounds, stitch counts, panel and joining diagrams, measured front placement plans, four colour tables, linked contents and page bookmarks. Spot clean and dry flat. This pouch is not a toy.
