Materials and size

Level: Intermediate. Use DK cotton and a 3 mm starting hook, adjusting the hook after making a swatch. You will also need toy stuffing, a yarn needle, stitch markers and scissors. Faces are embroidered with yarn; the designs use no wire frame or separate buttons or fasteners.

Target height: 22–25 cm from sole to crown, excluding ears and antlers, at the design gauge of 24 sc × 30 rows/rounds per 10 cm. Finished size varies with yarn, tension and stuffing. Baste and check the clothing on your own animal before finishing the seams.
