Three cats that sit on a shelf rather than clip onto a bag, and three named breeds rather than three colours of one cat. Each is two flat shaped panels sewn back to back and padded lightly, so head and body come out of one piece of shaping. The sphynx runs four straight rows at seven stitches for a long chest and carries ears nearly as tall as its own head. The scottish fold is sixteen stitches wide against eleven rows tall — a loaf that is wider than it is high before any stuffing goes in — with ears sewn along their top edge only so they fold flat. The black cat is the only one with a full tail: thirteen rounds worked from a magic ring and left empty, with hidden body tacks and small sewing stitches holding its curved tip. Its face is embroidery all the way through, since a black patch on black yarn is not a face.
