Characters: Cat has a grey tabby cup with darker stripes, white belly and paws, a low cap with pink-lined pointed ears, a striped tail at the back and a pink book. Bear has a brown cup with a tan belly, a rounded cap with broad tan-lined round ears, tan paw pads and a blue book. Bunny has a white cup with a pink belly, tall upright pink-lined ears, a round white tail, pink paw pads and a yellow book. Fox has an orange cup with a white bib, broad pointed ears with white linings and black tips, a bushy orange tail with a white tip, black hand and foot socks and a green book. Keep all four figures faceless.
Materials: Bulky (weight 5) yarn with a 6 mm hook for the basket and hat; worsted (weight 4) yarn with a 3.5 mm hook for the limbs, book and all details. Add polyester fibrefill, tapestry needle, scissors, pins, removable markers, measuring tape, a spare roll and optional ivory felt. All pieces are soft and wire-free.
Skill: Intermediate. Techniques include spiral single crochet, waistcoat stitch, turned rows, increases, decreases, back-loop turns, colour changes, simple embroidery and sewing.
Size at gauge: Main basket about 13.2 cm across with a 6.0 cm wall; hat inside about 11.7 cm across with a 3.3 cm band. Legs about 16.2 cm and arms 13.1 cm before bending. Book about 10.5 cm wide when flat open and 4.6 cm high. Small and Large base adjustments are about 11.8 cm and 14.7 cm across. The three fits cover rolls about 9.6-11.7 cm across and 10-11 cm tall; measure your roll first. Over 10 cm, bulky sc gauge is 13 stitches by 14 rounds, waistcoat gauge is 14 stitches by 15 rounds, and worsted sc gauge is 22 stitches by 26 rows or rounds. Yarn, stuffing and seams affect the final size.
This is a decoration, not a toy. Keep small parts away from children and pets, and keep it away from water and heat. Support the whole basket base on a dry, level surface.
