Sizes and materials
At gauge, MINI is approximately 11.67 cm tall x 10 cm wide flat, with 24 eyelets and a 50 cm chain cord. GIFT is approximately 17.50 cm tall x 15 cm wide flat, with 36 eyelets and a 75 cm chain cord. Heights start at the base-to-wall fold and include the relaxed cuff; cord ends and pompoms are excluded. The circular base folds inward when the pouch lies flat.
Use smooth DK cotton and a 3.0 mm hook for every pouch, cuff, cord and its two end pompoms. MINI appliques use fingering cotton with a 2.0 mm hook at 32 sc x 32 rows per 10 cm. GIFT appliques use DK cotton with a 3.0 mm hook at 24 sc x 24 rows per 10 cm. Pouch gauge is 24 sc x 24 rows per 10 cm. Adjust hooks to gauge. The PDF gives shopping allowances in metres and yards for every design, size and colour.
You will also need a yarn needle, blunt threading needle, stitch markers, scissors, tape measure, cardboard and strong matching thread for the pompoms. Confident beginner; US crochet terms with UK conversion. Faces have embroidered dot eyes and no mouth. No safety eyes or metal fittings are needed.
Use for gift cards, wrapped sweets, jewellery or other light small presents; check the actual item fits before filling. An optional loop can be tied in the cord for a lightly filled tree decoration. Spot clean and dry flat. Keep pompoms, cord loops and small parts away from young children; these pouches are gift packaging and decorations, not toys.
