Four winter bird wind spinners, one crochet PDF
Crochet a scarlet Cardinal with its black mask and crest, a round Christmas-card Robin, a black-capped Chickadee and a Snowy Owl with yellow eyes. Each spinner is four flat bird tiers on one crocheted cord, every tier turned a quarter turn from the one above: the same construction as our Butterfly & Moth spinners.
Pattern details
- Four original patterns in one 24-page English PDF.
- US crochet terms with a UK conversion table.
- Linked contents, bookmarks, a counted table for every row with its colour, and to-scale tier diagrams.
- Each bird: one flat body worked from tail to head with the colours changed at the row ends, and two flat wings.
- Beaks, eyes and the owl's flecks are embroidered: no beads, wire, stuffing or hardware.
Materials: DK cotton in scarlet red, black, chestnut brown, robin orange, warm cream, soft grey, snow white and golden yellow, a 2.5 mm hook, tapestry needle, removable stitch markers and blocking pins. Confident beginner: flat rows, colour changes at the row end and simple embroidery.
Size: about 18 cm across the wings for the Cardinal, 19 cm for the Robin, 18 cm for the Chickadee and 15 cm for the Snowy Owl, at the stated gauge. Every spinner hangs four tiers on a cord of about 42 cm plus its loop. Your yarn and tension set the final size; the PDF shows how to check your first tier.
Digital crochet instructions only; no finished spinner or yarn is included. Hanging decor, not a toy.
