Make a Giraffe, Elephant, Lion, Monkey, Bunny, Bear, Fox or Unicorn curtain tieback from one shared long-armed base. Each animal has its own colours, ears and tail: brown giraffe spots, wide pink-lined elephant ears and a curved trunk, a loop-stitch lion mane, a cream monkey face and curly tail, upright bunny ears, a round tan bear, a bushy-tailed fox and a gold-horned unicorn with pastel rainbow loops.

One animal holds one curtain panel. Make two for a pair.
Curtain fit: Fits a gathered curtain up to about 42 cm around. Measure the curtain at the intended tieback height and check the fit before final sewing. The pattern explains how to lengthen both arm tubes equally.
Materials: matte cotton in DK / light worsted weight, a 3.0-3.5 mm hook adjusted to gauge, polyester fibrefill, Brown embroidery thread or split cotton, tapestry needle, scissors, markers, pins and ruler. Use embroidered or crocheted Brown dot eyes by default. Optional 5 mm Brown safety eyes replace them; small parts: if safety eyes are used, keep away from children under 3.
Skill: intermediate. Work continuous and joined single crochet rounds, increases, invisible decreases, turned rows, colour changes, loop stitch, small-piece sewing and embroidery.
Size: approximately 17-23 cm high depending on the animal, including its tallest ears, horn or mane; head width about 5.6 cm and each arm about 22.4 cm at 24 stitches and 24 rounds per 10 cm. Filling, sewing and tension affect finished dimensions.
A curtain tieback and nursery decoration with sewn parts and cords. Keep the decoration and curtain cords out of reach of young children. Spot clean gently and air dry.
