A full-size mantel stocking, not a charm — 43 cm from the top of the cuff to the toe, worked as four flat rectangles in worsted single crochet with no shaping anywhere except two rows at the toe. Santa himself is six flat pieces stacked into one applique — hat, band, bobble, face, beard, nose — all sewn on before the two halves are joined, so every stitch goes through one layer.
