Inside the pattern
One 26-page English PDF with linked contents, bookmarks, US terms and UK conversion. Includes the shared counted pouch, the ch-7 foundation map, colour tables for all ten designs, counted details, placement drawings, gift ideas and care instructions.
Skill: beginner. Uses single crochet, chains, slip stitches, simple increases and decreases, magic rings, small bobbles, surface slip stitches and sewing.
Materials and fit
Use two strands of DK / light #3 held together as one with a 5 mm hook. A single strand of bulky #5 is an alternative: check the fit. Add a marker, yarn needle, scissors and two candy canes. Choose 10 mm googly eyes or embroidered eyes, and a craft pom-pom or a counted crochet nose. Estimated yarn budgets by design and colour are included.
Approximate gauge: 14 sc and 16 rows or rounds per 10 cm. At this gauge, the 11-stitch holder is approximately 3.93 cm wide when flat and 6.88 cm high before the loop. Try both candy canes from about R9; add or remove complete rounds while keeping 11 stitches around.
This is a decoration and gift holder; for young children, embroider the eyes and crochet the nose.
Remove the candy canes before cleaning. Follow the yarn and adhesive care directions and let the holder dry completely before refilling.
A digital PDF crochet pattern only. No finished holder, candy canes, yarn or tools are included.
