Three hanging spinners whose twist is made of chain instead of stitch. Every other coil on this store buys its corkscrew with extra stitches — two or three double crochet crammed into one — and pays for them in solid fabric. These buy it with chain spaces, so the outer edge still finishes twice the inner edge and the band still has nowhere to go but around, but it comes out open mesh you can see straight through. One band, three uses. Make it once and hang three balls inside it; make it twice and set the two half a turn apart for a double helix; or work the short one with sixty-three open shells down its edge and hang nothing in it at all. Every drop is set by a cord rather than by how tightly you happen to crochet, so a 60 cm spinner is 60 cm on anyone's hook.

All 3 patterns come in this one file for $6.90. They are not sold separately.

What you get

  • 3 written patterns in one 11-page PDF
  • Written in US crochet terms, beginner friendly
  • A stitch count at the end of every round — calculated from the pattern by script, never typed in by hand, so no round can contradict the one before it
  • Abbreviations and technique notes included
  • Instant download — the file is yours the moment you check out

Patterns in this file

  • Double Spiral — about 68.0 cm
  • Lace Twist Spiral — about 60.0 cm
  • Shell Ruffle Spiral — about 52.0 cm

You will need

  • Worsted / aran (#4) about 70 g of yarn for each spinner — less than a solid coil of the same length takes, because half of every lace row is chain
  • 5.0 mm hook
  • tapestry needle
  • stitch marker
  • a small brass bell for the Double Spiral, optional — the pattern gives a crocheted ball as the alternative so nothing here is required
  • polyester fibrefill

Before you buy

This is a digital pattern, not a finished lace spinner — nothing is posted to you. You may sell the lace spinners you make from it if you credit HookieNest as the designer; please do not resell or share the file itself.

Digital files cannot be returned once downloaded. If the file will not open, is missing pages, or is not what this page described, email us within 7 days and we will refund you in full.

How delivery works

This is a digital pattern — nothing is shipped. As soon as your payment is confirmed, a download link is emailed to you and also appears on your order confirmation page. If the email is slow to arrive, check your spam folder.

What you'll receive

A PDF written in US crochet terms. Every part is worked round by round with the stitch count at the end of each round, and each file includes a materials list, an abbreviations table, technique notes and step-by-step assembly. Read it on a phone or print it — there is nothing to trace or measure, so page scale does not matter.

Returns & help

Digital files cannot be returned once downloaded. But if the file will not open, is missing pages, or is not what this page described, email us within 7 days and we will refund you in full. If a stitch count does not work out, tell us the charm and the round number — we would rather fix the pattern than leave you stuck.
