Three long hanging spirals that corkscrew on their own — no wire, no hoop, no blocking and no shaping. Each one is a straight strip worked three double crochet into every stitch of a hundred-and-sixteen-stitch row; the surplus stitches do all of the twisting. The three are not three colours of the same thing. A classic coil twelve turns deep, a deep-band version that coils half as often and half again as wide, and a flared one that grips at the top and opens out toward the tassel. Learn the band once and the other two are a change of two numbers.
