Materials and sizes
Use medium / worsted-weight cotton and a 4.0 mm hook. Target gauge: 16 dc and 8.5 straight dc rows per 10 cm. A fine metallic thread is optional. Add a yarn needle, scissors, ruler, markers and your own cutlery. Match the gauge and panel shape before assembly.
At the shaping target, both panels are about 8.8 cm wide. Heights measured from the foundation to the tip: front 12.1 cm, back 17.1 cm. The plain tree including its trunk is about 8.8 x 18.5 cm. Decorated heights range from 18.5 to 20.3 cm; Snowy Pine and Gingerbread reach about 9.8 cm wide.
The chevron shaping guide uses 45-degree slopes. Pocket depth is about 7.4 cm at the low mouth corners and 11.9 cm under the front tip, where most cutlery sits. The usable mouth span is 8.4 cm and the back rises 5.0 cm above the front tip. Use a standard dinner fork about 19-20 cm long as a reference and check your knife, fork and spoon together before closing the sides. Utensil heads may extend above the back tip. Yarn, tension and shaping angle affect the dimensions.
Count-based total yarn estimates: 40-55 m per holder, including a reserve. The PDF gives each design total and trim-colour purchase allowances. Actual use varies.
Remove cutlery, hand wash gently and dry flat. Keep the pocket mouth open and reshape the decorations as they dry.
A digital PDF crochet pattern only. No finished holder, cutlery, yarn or tools are included.
